We are extremely lucky to have two groups dedicated to assisting our families and supporters to achieve their running goals whilst raising money for FAST. Inspired to run by these two amazing groups the global community has logged many miles via ultra, full and half marathons, ten and five kilometre events.

Angel Runners-

Angel Runners was founded on September 18, 2010 when the «Race for Reese» 10k was ran by Jason Bernstein at the USAF marathon events for his girlfriend’s son, Reese Vescelius, now his wife & stepson.  Jason had raised $500 for FAST over a two week period. This spawned the idea of recruiting other friends, family, and Angelman parents and relatives to join in the cause. The original vision was for 500 people to each raise $500 bringing our efforts to a minimum of $250,000 raised online via Firstgiving,   as of May 6, 2014 the tally stands at $227,099!  http://www.angelrunners.com

Miles for Smiles –

In January 2011, inspired by her daughter Hayden, Deanna McCurdy kicked off Team Miles for Smiles.  Miles for Smiles has grown to over 100 members, many from Deanna’s hometown of Peachtree City, Georgia, but also runners from as far away as New York, Texas, Colorado, Canada, Australia and even New Zealand – thanks to social networking.  To date, we have raised over $100,000 for FAST.  http://miles-for-smiles.org
